About the Client
For more than 45 years, Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida, Inc. has been a driving force in the lives of thousands of girls. They currently serve more than 10,000 girls, ages 5 - 17, in ten counties including Manatee, Hardee, Highlands, Sarasota, DeSoto, Charlotte, Glades, Lee, Hendry, and Collier and have a network of more than 3,000 committed volunteers and more than 40 qualified staff members. Girl Scouts reaches out to girls of all races, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds, offering them the kinds of enriching, educational experiences that help them to develop qualities that will serve them all their lives, such as leadership, strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth.

New Goals for a New Site
The new website prominently displays the Girl Scout brand as well as promotes the Girl Scout’s mission by providing well-organized content and easy-to-use navigation. The theme, prominently displayed on the home page is: Discover, Connect, Take Action, which became the very premise of the site’s design and infrastructure.

The Design
Girl Scouts already has a strong brand and the new website leverages that by enhancing the visuals. The brand is also enhanced by reinforcing the message behind it, the message of helping girls discover who they are, connect with others locally and globally, and take action to make the world a better place.

Product Sales & Fundraising
A product sales section answers questions about the successful fundraising initiatives and has a “Meet the Cookies” page for previewing the famous Girl Scout cookies. Visitors can also check out the council properties and camps and read testimonials from the girls and their troop leaders.
